If so, our client is offering an exciting opportunity for a Civil Project Engineer to make a real impact.

What are you going to do 

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you'll be accountable for the complete lifecycle management and coordination of assigned capital projects, with a strong emphasis on haul road development and crucial local authorisation projects across multiple mine sites. You will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient allocation of capital funding and the successful achievement of desired business outcomes through effective project delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead funding request drafting and review for timely approvals, and provide input on budgets, pricing, procurement, and contractor strategies, and monitoring the metrics throughout the project phases.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on budgets and priorities, overseeing local authorisations and larger projects.
  • Track project progress, provide regular updates and accurate forecasting through continuous communication with Asset Owners for monthly reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to project delivery and authorisation processes, maintaining audit compliance across sites and identifying process improvements.
  • Hands-on management of the haul road program, including contractor management, site inspections, works forecasting, and progress claim approvals.

Essential skills and knowledge 

While managing various projects contributes to a varied workload, you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with the Project Manager on broader capital program management tasks, ensuring a well-rounded experience. You will have exposure across our clients WA mining operations.

What you can bring to the role:

  • Ideally you will have a bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural/Civil) OR a Project or Construction Management degree with relevant industry experience.
  • Previous experience in the mining, construction, or heavy industry sectors will also be highly considered.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with previous engineering supervisory experience.
  • A strong business and customer-focused perspective, with an understanding of engineering alliance relationships, and proven experience in cost tracking, budgeting, and forecasting.
