Introduction

Brunel is proud to partner with a global energy business to appoint an Engineering Lead to support one of Australia's key offshore assets. Based in Darwin and reporting to the Technical Maintenance Manager, you will lead a multidisciplinary engineering function to deliver safe, compliant, and technically sound outcomes across operations and projects.

What are you going to do 

  • Provide leadership, planning, and oversight to the onshore engineering team supporting an FPSO operation.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including ownership of MOC and TQ processes.
  • Act as the focal point for client and contractor engineering interfaces, driving collaboration and clarity.
  • Oversee engineering budget, resourcing, contract scopes, and technical compliance.
  • Maintain the integrity of engineering documentation, systems, and the digital twin environment.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline (Mechanical, Process, Electrical, Instrumentation).
  • Strong engineering leadership experience within the Oil & Gas industry, ideally with FPSO or offshore exposure.
  • Proven understanding of Process Safety, MOC, TQ, Safety Cases, and digital engineering systems.
  • Clear communicator with strong stakeholder engagement capabilities and team coordination experience.
  • Residing in, or willing to relocate to, Darwin/Northern Territory.
