Introduction

Brunel International is currently seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our client that is based Papua New Guinea. This is a FIFO (fly-in-fly-out) position based on a 22/20 roster. As the Engineering Manager, you will manage and lead a team of geotechnical engineers and technicians, providing guidance, training, and support.

As the Engineering Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical leadership and guidance to the engineering team
  • Identify and assess geotechnical risks, providing recommendations for risk mitigation strategies
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant standards, regulations, and codes of practice
  • Developing and maintaining project schedules and budgets
  • Leading safety initiatives and promoting a culture of safety across all engineering activities
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and driving continuous improvement initiatives

Essential skills and knowledge 

List of requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
  • 5 to 10 years' experience as a Geotechnical Engineer
  • Experience working on large-scale projects in the resources or infrastructure sectors
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of engineering principles and practices
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure
  • Willingness to work on a FIFO basis
  • Completion of a Pre-employment Medical and Police Check
  • Willingness to acquire IEPNG Registration
