Introduction

What are you going to do 

  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for volume and custom homes, including materials, labour, and subcontractors.
  • Interpret architectural plans, specifications, and client inclusions to ensure accurate scope and pricing.
  • Liaise with internal teams (sales, drafting, construction) and external suppliers/subcontractors for pricing and updates.
  • Generate BOQs, material take-offs, and variations using estimating software (e.g. Databuild, Onsite Companion, Bluebeam).
  • Identify potential cost risks and offer value engineering or design alternatives when required.
  • Maintain up-to-date pricing databases and ensure all estimates align with company procedures and industry standards.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Over 3+ years' experience as an Estimator, preffered residential construction
  • Experienced to both production and sales estimating
  • Strong understanding of residential construction methods and cost control
  • Able to interpret drawings, plans, and specifications accurately
  • Great attention to detail and time management skills
  • Experience using Databuild, Onsite Companion, or Bluebeam preferred
  • Excellent communication and teamwork mindset
