A Materials & Corrosion Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and longevity of assets, especially in offshore gas exploration projects. Their responsibilities encompass material selection, corrosion control, and adherence to industry standards to maintain safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement corrosion control strategies and material selection processes.
Ensure compliance with international standards and project specifications.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate corrosion and materials engineering solutions.
Provide technical support during design, construction, and operational phases
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in corrosion control and material engineering, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
Proficiency in corrosion modeling and material selection tools.
Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (e.g., NACE, API, ASME).
