Introduction

  • A System Engineer (Project) plays a critical role in the planning, configuration, testing, and commissioning of complex systems—particularly in infrastructure and industrial environments such as oil and gas, telecommunications, and large-scale engineering projects.
  • This role ensures that all system components are integrated effectively and operate reliably throughout the project lifecycle.

What are you going to do 

  • Leading the configuration, testing, and commissioning of networked systems such as PAGA (Public Address and General Alarm) systems.
  • Managing system modifications, upgrades, and troubleshooting during project execution.
  • Reviewing and approving contractor submittals, shop drawings, and method statements to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of ELV (Extra Low Voltage) systems including CCTV, ACS, BMS, AV/VC, and others
  • Ensuring adherence to project timelines, safety standards, and quality benchmarks.
  • Supporting documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunications, or Computer Engineering).
  • Management qualification or experience is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in configuration, testing, and commissioning of networked systems, particularly in oil and gas or industrial sectors
  • Prior experience with QatarEnergy contracts or equivalent projects is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with systems such as:
    • Federal Signal – Gen I, Gen II
    • Peavey Media Matrix with Castle Rock SNMPC
  • Proficiency in ELV technologies: CCTV, ACS, BMS, DIDS, AV/VC, ANPR, RBS, RFID, QMS, VMS, PGS, PMS
  • Strong understanding of international standards and specifications for system integration.
  • Skilled in system documentation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Effective communication, report writing, and team coordination capabilities.
