We are currently seeking an experienced Underground Heavy-Duty Diesel Fitter for a well-established goldmine in Papua New Guinea. This is 6-12 month contract opportunity.

What are you going to do 

As an Underground HD Diesel Fitter, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all underground mining equipment. You will be required to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment, collaborating with other maintenance and operations teams to ensure the smooth running of the mine. This role involves working in underground conditions and may require shift work.

Essential skills and knowledge 

List of requirements

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Trade qualified as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working as an Underground Fitter in a mining environment
  • Experience with underground mining equipment such as loaders, drill rigs (Sandvik DD421), DL431 longhole drills, DS421 cabolter, trucks and other ancillary machines
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Commitment to safety and adhering to company policies and procedures

During the interview, you will be assessed on your level of experience and skills, work history, availability, and the qualifications the company is seeking for the position.

Meeting in Real Life

After successfully making through the phone interview, a face to face interview will be scheduled between the candidate and recruiter. This session can be a more in-depth  interview to review your communication and interpersonal skills.
