Introduction

Brunel Energy is currently seeking a highly motivated Water Design Engineer to join a tier one mining business on a 6-month contract in Perth. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and engineering water infrastructure for mining operations.

What are you going to do 

  • Perform hydraulic modeling for pipelines, borefields, pump stations, ponds, tanks, and other water infrastructure.
  • Prepare and compile technical deliverables, including construction drawings, quantity estimates, and scope definitions.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders throughout the design process.
  • Facilitate project design reviews, including field inspections and ensuring compliance with stakeholder requirements and design criteria.
  • Construction support through Technical Queries and updates to design deliverable documentation as required.
  • Produce equipment data sheets and evaluate vendor proposals for budget and technical compliance.
  • Ensure designs comply with statutory regulations, project specifications, industry best practices, and procedural standards.
  • Provide clear and timely updates on design progress, modifications, risks, and challenges.
  • Facilitate effective collaboration, support, and seamless information transfer across disciplines.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering (preferred), or Chemical Engineering or Civil Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia.
  • Must have a current right to work in Australia to be considered for this role.
  • Dewatering experience.
  • Experience of working with Visio and Arc map is highly advantageous.
