Inspect welding work, including techniques, materials, and finished welds, to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, AWS).
Review welding procedures and qualifications to validate compliance with project requirements.
Conduct visual, dimensional, and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections.
Collaborate closely with engineers, quality assurance, and construction teams to resolve welding issues.
Maintain accurate inspection records and prepare reports on welding quality and any non-conformities.
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards throughout welding operations.
Essential skills and knowledge
Qualifications:
Relevant certification in welding inspection (e.g., CWI, CSWIP).
Proven experience in welding inspection on offshore oil and gas projects, preferably FPSO.
Strong knowledge of welding codes, standards, and inspection techniques.
Ability to interpret welding procedures, drawings, and specifications.
Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
