What are you going to do
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect welding work, including techniques, materials, and finished welds, to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, AWS).
- Review welding procedures and qualifications to validate compliance with project requirements.
- Conduct visual, dimensional, and non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, quality assurance, and construction teams to resolve welding issues.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and prepare reports on welding quality and any non-conformities.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards throughout welding operations.
Essential skills and knowledge
Qualifications:
- Relevant certification in welding inspection (e.g., CWI, CSWIP).
- Proven experience in welding inspection on offshore oil and gas projects, preferably FPSO.
- Strong knowledge of welding codes, standards, and inspection techniques.
- Ability to interpret welding procedures, drawings, and specifications.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
