Introduction

  • To provide cross infection control/sterilization of instruments in the dental clinic in accordance to policies on cross infection control and instrument sterilization.

What are you going to do 

  • Ensure functioning and maintenance of sterilizers and equipment.
  • Ensure aseptic handling and pre-sterilization cleaning of instrument
  • Dispatch sterile items to the dental surgery rooms.
  • Co-ordinate with all the Dental Assistants regarding disinfection, isolation, cleaning, and sterilization.
  • Maintain instruments by lubrication, dissembling, re-assembling, and sterile pouching.
  • Maintain aseptic storage of dental instruments.
  • Maintain records of sterilization.
  • Maintain high levels of isolation techniques in known infection cases.
  • Maintain accurate and appropriate records.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Educated to high school level (12 years) (essential).
  • Infection Control Training Certification complying with Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP) requirements (essential).
  • Written and spoken English skills (essential).
  • Basic life support (BLS) (essential).
  • Minimum of 2 years of acute care and/or Primary Health Care (C.S.R/ C.S.S.D) experience (essential).
  • Working knowledge of IT systems (preferred).
  • Where applicable, all registration and/or licenses and/or certifications need to remain current and active while under Employment (essential).
  • Proficient in English, written and verbal: (essential).
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills (essential).
  • Valid Qatar driving license (preferred).
  • Must maintain patient confidentiality (essential).
  • May be required to work shifts and at various locations as required (essential).
