Introduction

  • Lead the Electrical Engineering activities for the North Field Expansion Offshore Project, ensuring technical requirements (e.g. project specifications, data sheets, etc.) fully comply with project deliverables and standardized processes and provide support to Offshore Engineering Manager ensuring all aspects are delivered to the highest standards.
  • The Electrical Lead will be responsible for providing expert technical guidance on the design, testing and installation for all Electrical equipment and electrical systems associated with the Offshore facilities and Onshore facilities (Offshore scope).
  • The role ensures compliance with LNG and international standards to enhance asset reliability and safety.
  • Provide extensive knowledge and understanding of the requirements of ECPI, communicate and efficiently translate Company requirements and data into an efficient delivery from the contractor.
  • Collaborate across disciplines (including Process, Loss Prevention, Electrical, Mechanical, ICSS, Pipeline, Umbilicals, HSSE and Risk), and monitor the progress and delivery of the engineering sections of the work scope.

What are you going to do 

  • Ensure that the Contractor’s Electrical engineering for Topsides, Onshore Facilities (Offshore scope) comply with the Contract requirements including project codes and standards.
  • Review and approve Contractor engineering deliverables (Design basis, Specifications, Philosophies, load lists, SLDs, Hazardous Area Classification DWGs, Power system studies for Topsides and Onshore facilities (Offshore scope). Review and comment on other discipline engineering deliverables.
  • Plan and schedule the Electrical engineering deliverables to enable efficient project execution, ensuring technical alignment and compliance with LNG operational policies, standards of business conduct and project management system.
  • Participate in key design workshops and ensure that workshop recommendations are correctly implemented and actions closed (SAFOP, 3D model reviews, Lessons Learned, Value Engineering, cyber security, etc.).
  • Review vendor documentation for electrical equipment (Transformers, HV&LV Switch gear, ELICs, variable shunt reactor) and attend Factory Acceptance Test (FATs).
  • Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts with respect to the discipline involved in delivery of the Electrical systems related to Topsides and Pipelines Engineering and ensure endorsement of technical deviations to Company specifications when required.
  • Supervises the Engineering interface for Electrical systems between Topsides and Onshore Facilities (Offshore scope) and the following teams: Operations, Pipelines & Cables and the Onshore Project Team.
  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines (including Process, Structural, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Loss Prevention, Piping layout), and monitor the progress and delivery of the engineering sections of the work scope.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • 8 years of experience in electrical engineering within major project environment in the oil and gas industry including 1 year experience in a supervisory role, having a broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, construction and operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary, multicultural teams in offshore environments.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
  • A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Computer literacy involves the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications.
  • Good knowledge of mechanical equipment, piping, pipeline, structural, instrument, telecom, piping and electrical.
