Introduction

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Preservation Coordinator to join our clients team in Perth on a short term contract until the end of March 2025. The Preservation Coordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining preservation strategies for equipment, materials, and assets across operations. This role will ensure the longevity, integrity, and optimal performance of critical assets, preventing degradation, damage, and unnecessary costs.

What are you going to do 

Responsibilities:

Asset Preservation:

  • Develop and implement preservation procedures for equipment and materials, including appropriate storage, handling, and environmental controls to prevent corrosion, wear, and damage.

Condition Monitoring:

  • Conduct regular inspections and condition assessments of stored assets and equipment. Monitor storage environments and take corrective actions when necessary to ensure materials remain in optimal condition.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of preservation activities, inspections, maintenance reports, and asset conditions. Ensure all documentation meets regulatory standards and internal guidelines.

Material Handling:

  • Oversee the proper handling and storage of critical materials and equipment to minimize physical damage, contamination, or environmental exposure. Ensure that all assets are stored according to industry best practices and manufacturer recommendations.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential preservation risks, including environmental factors and handling errors, and develop plans to mitigate these risks. Implement preventive maintenance schedules to protect assets during periods of inactivity.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Regularly review and update preservation procedures to reflect new industry standards, technological advancements, and lessons learned from past experiences. Strive to improve efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining the highest standards of asset care.

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies regarding asset preservation, handling, and storage.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or qualifications in Mechanical fitting & machining
  • Proven experience in asset preservation, maintenance, or a similar. role within the oil and gas industry.
  • Knowledge of preservation techniques, materials handling, and corrosion prevention methods.
  • Familiarity with relevant standards, codes, and regulations (e.g., API, ISO, NACE).
  • Experienced with contractor management
