What are you going to do
The Senior Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and support to our operations in Papua New Guinea. This role involves managing legal matters, contracts, and compliance issues, as well as developing strategies to mitigate legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial law and experience working in the PNG legal landscape.
Essential skills and knowledgeÂ
- Bachelor's degree in Law, admitted to practice in Papua New Guinea
- Minimum of 10 years of experience preferably with an international law firm or within the Oil & Gas industry
- Proven track record in managing legal matters in a corporate environment
- Strong knowledge of commercial law, contract negotiation, and regulatory compliance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Residing in Papua New Guinea or willing to relocate
