Introduction

On behalf of our client, Woodside Energy - a Global Energy Company, Brunel is presently sourcing a Joint Venture Accountant. Join Woodside's Finance function and support a range of accounting activities. You will be responsible for performing Global Joint Venture Accounting processes and works in conjunction with other Finance Teams. This will be a casual contract role based at their luxurious Perth CBD premises.

About this role

Ensure accounting for non-operated JVs is in compliance with accounting principles, regulations and Joint Operating Agreements
Provide support to the FP&P Team for non-operated JV related queries
Preparation of JIBs working file for non-operated JVs and posting monthly JIBs into SAP
Processing monthly cash calls received from non-op partners into SAP
Act as an Administrator for the AFE module and provide support to FP&P for AFE module related queries
Assist with joint venture audit requirements
Provide support to Group Reporting as required through the completion of month end activities such as CJEs and Trial Balances reviews
Preparation of General Ledger reconciliations
Assist with special projects as required
Ensuring work is compliant with all statutory requirements including tax, SOX and audit compliance, and the Woodside Code of Conduct
Act as a backup support to other JV Accountants during leave and absences

Is this you?

Preferably tertiary qualification in Accounting / Finance (not mandatory or perhaps studying towards studying towards an Accounting qualification or Professional Certification
A working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP environment
Previous Joint Venture and SOX compliance experience will be beneficial
Ability to work independently, organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and set and meet deadlines
Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities and a Continuous Improvement mindset
Confident communications skills both verbal and written
