Introduction

On behalf of our client, Woodside Energy - a Global Energy Company, Brunel is presently sourcing a Joint Venture Accountant. Join Woodside's Finance function and support a range of accounting activities. You will be responsible for performing Global Joint Venture Accounting processes and works in conjunction with other Finance Teams. This will be a casual contract role based at their luxurious Perth CBD premises.

About this role

  • Ensure accounting for non-operated JVs is in compliance with accounting principles, regulations and Joint Operating Agreements
  • Provide support to the FP&P Team for non-operated JV related queries
  • Preparation of JIBs working file for non-operated JVs and posting monthly JIBs into SAP
  • Processing monthly cash calls received from non-op partners into SAP
  • Act as an Administrator for the AFE module and provide support to FP&P for AFE module related queries
  • Assist with joint venture audit requirements
  • Provide support to Group Reporting as required through the completion of month end activities such as CJEs and Trial Balances reviews
  • Preparation of General Ledger reconciliations
  • Assist with special projects as required
  • Ensuring work is compliant with all statutory requirements including tax, SOX and audit compliance, and the Woodside Code of Conduct
  • Act as a backup support to other JV Accountants during leave and absences

Is this you?

  • Preferably tertiary qualification in Accounting / Finance (not mandatory or perhaps studying towards studying towards an Accounting qualification or Professional Certification
  • A working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP environment
  • Previous Joint Venture and SOX compliance experience will be beneficial
  • Ability to work independently, organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and set and meet deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities and a Continuous Improvement mindset
  • Confident communications skills both verbal and written
