Introduction

We are seeking a proficient Quantity Surveyor to join a highly esteemed Tier 1 mining business based in Perth, Australia. This contract position offers the chance to work on vital structural integrity projects within the mining sector. The successful candidate will play an integral role in supporting project delivery through rigorous monitoring, tracking, and management of project resources and activities.

About this role

  • Monitor and track daily contractor activity, including labour, equipment, materials, and remediation work progress.
  • Review and sign off on day work sheets and validate contractor payment claims for accuracy.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining project cost forecasts and managing budget updates.
  • Support preparation of execution strategies, scopes of work, and bills of quantities.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with Quality, HSE, and Level 2 Risk Assessments (L2RA).
  • Perform LIF activities, including reviews, verifications, and safety compliance checks.
  • Collaborate with the project engineer to review thickness tests and approve remediation plans.
  • Document design or scope changes and ensure timely updates to cost tracking.
  • Attend regular contractor progress and shutdown meetings, including site inspections.
  • Raise purchase requisitions and manage ongoing training and administrative tasks.

Is this you?

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, engineering, management, or similar
  • Construction estimating or finance experience is highly desirable
  • Knowledge and ability to understanding requirements of the following disciplines - Mechanical, Structural, Electrical, Civil, Scaffolding
  • MS Excel & Project knowledge
  • FIFO role so should be able to work an 8:6 roster
  • You must have current right to work in Australia to be considered for this role
