Introduction

On behalf of Chevron, we are seeking a Shipping and Marine Officer/Load Master for a 6 month contract based in Onslow on a 2:2 roster.

About this role

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary focal point on site for information flow around LNG and condensate liftings, managing communications between internal and external parties.
  • Assist in the management of LNG and condensate exports.
  • Ensure pre and post shipment documentation and reports, including key commercial cargo documents, are provided promptly before, during, and after loading as per the lifter's instructions.
  • Manage front-line conflicts or discrepancies between the terminal, ship, and buyers, and escalate issues to the appropriate parties when necessary.
  • Maintain information and document links on the marine terminal page of the Chevron website.
  • Act as the first point of contact for all matters related to the marine terminal.
  • Undertake training and gain competence in the use of relevant monitoring equipment to provide communications covering the movement of marine vessels in the general vicinity of, and within, the jurisdiction of the marine terminal.
  • Undertake training and clear competency requirements for the Load Master role.
  • Assist in response to vessel emergencies at the terminal as required, following established procedures and lines of communication.
  • Commitment to health, environment, safety, and Chevron best practices.

Is this you?

Requirements

  • Must have a valid open driver's license
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (word, excel, SharePoint) and experience in using web-based tools and databases
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Customer focused with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a busy environment
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and build key relationships that contribute to high-class business results
  • Previous marine experience in oil and gas, resources, defence or from shipping/port sectors would be highly regarded
  • Marine VHF radio operators license will be regarded but not essential.
