What are you going to do 

As a Senior Civil Designer, you will be instrumental in delivering a wide range of civil infrastructure designs across mining and energy assets. This role offers exposure to every stage of project development - from scoping and prefeasibility through to detailed design and execution. You will report directly to the Manager of Infrastructure Design and may have the opportunity to lead design packages under the guidance of a Project Lead.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce civil designs including earthworks, drainage, roads, and non-process infrastructure across various mining and energy projects.
  • Create 3D civil models and detailed drawings using 12d and MicroStation, incorporating design standards (Australian and international as appropriate).
  • Develop geospatial data and maps to support design and approvals.
  • Liaise with engineers to integrate technical requirements into coherent, review-ready design models.
  • Conduct data management and GIS analysis using tools such as Global Mapper and ArcGIS.
  • Prepare and present design concepts in project meetings and design reviews.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet safety, quality, and scheduling targets.
  • Champion best practices in BIM and 3D environments, including customisation and automation within design platforms where possible.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Candidate with over 8 years' experience in senior civil design roles within the mining, energy, or infrastructure sectors will have a distinct advantage
  • High-level proficiency with 12d Model and MicroStation.
  • Strong working knowledge of GIS platforms - particularly Global Mapper and ArcGIS.
  • Sound understanding of geometric road design, bulk earthworks, and drainage principles.
  • Experience working in a BIM environment with the ability to customise attributes and create macros in 12d is highly desirable.
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a strong team orientation.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment with changing priorities.
  • You must have current right to work in Australia to be considered for this role
