Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Contracts Specialist with a strong background in FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the entire contract lifecycle, including pre-award, award, and post-award activities. This role requires expertise in negotiating, drafting, and administering contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and industry standards, and mitigating risks across high-value offshore projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Contract Management:

    • Draft, review, negotiate, and administer contracts, including EPCIC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, and Commissioning) contracts, subcontracts, and supplier agreements.
    • Ensure contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
    • Monitor contract performance to ensure obligations are met and risks are mitigated.
  2. Negotiations:

    • Lead contract negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
    • Resolve disputes and claims effectively while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
  3. Risk Management:

    • Identify, analyze, and mitigate contractual risks during the project lifecycle.
    • Work closely with the legal and project management teams to address potential liabilities and implement solutions.
  4. Post-Award Administration:

    • Manage variation orders, change requests, and extensions of time.
    • Oversee claims preparation, defense, and resolution processes.
    • Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with contract deliverables and milestones.
  5. Collaboration & Coordination:

    • Coordinate with internal departments, including legal, procurement, finance, and project management teams, to ensure seamless execution of contractual obligations.
    • Provide guidance to project teams on contract terms, obligations, and risk exposure.
  6. Reporting:

    • Prepare and maintain contract summaries, trackers, and reports for management review.
    • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to contract management and compliance.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and administering contracts and subcontracts to ensure compliance with legal and industry standards. The candidate will manage variation orders, handle claims, and lead contract negotiations to achieve favorable outcomes while mitigating risks. Collaboration with legal, procurement, finance, and project management teams to ensure contract obligations and milestones are met is essential.

Candidates must possess strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, alongside proficiency in contract management tools and Microsoft Office. A Bachelor's degree in Law, Business, Engineering, or a related field is required, with certifications in contract management (IACCM, FIDIC) considered a plus.
