What are you going to do
Brunel is currently searching for a Controller for direct hire with our mining client located in Kern County, California. Approximately 20 minutes outside of LA County.Reporting to the Mine Finance Manager, as Controller you will have 3 direct reports on the Finance team consisting of Accountants and Coordinator. This role collaborates with the Finance Manager and corporate team to drive financial performance and risk management.
Key Responsibilities* Prepare financial statements and ensure accurate reporting.
* Manage financial controls, audits, and compliance.* Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
* Lead the mine site finance team and month-end close.* Analyze financial performance and drive process improvements.
* Support ERP implementation and other financial projects.* This role is hands on.
Qualifications & Skills* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
* CPA designation (or in progress) preferred.* 7-10+ years of finance/accounting experience, with strong preference in the mining industry.
* Need a take charge leader who can hit the ground running.* Strong IFRS, US GAAP, and financial reporting knowledge.
* Excellent analytical, communication, with strong leadership skills.* Must have strong MS Office skills and financial systems applications, expert in Excel.
* MUST be eligible to work in the U.S. without the need for sponsorship.

What we offer
Offer:
Full-time, direct hire with salary range $130-140K. Position includes 15% bonus, 5% 401K match, full-benefits and potential relocation package. This role will be required to work on-site at the mine and is generally a compressed work week of four 10-hour days. Flexible for more hours during month-end, quarterly and year-end close.
