Brunel has an exciting job opportunity for a Project Junior Buyer supporting our client who are a large global mining company.
This contractor role will be in Bagdad, Arizona on a rotational basis, accommodations and travel provided
What are you going to do
Reporting to the project procurement lead, the Junior Buyer will perform purchasing tasks in accordance with standard techniques, procedures, and criteria but may be called upon to perform other procurement discipline tasks such as office expediting.
The daily tasks of a Junior Buyer are diverse and require multitasking, key responsibilities include:
- Vendor Analysis: Assess potential vendors and build long-term relationships.
- Negotiating Terms and Conditions, work with vendors to secure favorable terms.
- Incorporating standard Procurement procedures and strategies in the procurement of goods for the project.
- Managing the execution of all procurement activities of the assigned packages and works with EPC contractor(s) procurement team and cross functional departments to ensure plans, budgets, and schedules are being achieved.
Essential skills and knowledge
- Excellent knowledge and experience in ARIBA and SAP modules.
- 2+ year experience in project procurement in construction or mining industries.
- A bachelor's degree - Engineering (Civil and/or Mechanical preferred) or Business-related studies.
- Knowledge of and qualification in Project Management will be helpful.
