Introduction

Our client is a well established private equity firm building a growing pipeline of wind and BESS projects in Australia and are seeking development managers to be responsible for development activities from early stage through to FID. Look after a portfolio of projects in Victoria and be supported by a high performing leadership team.

About this role

Project Development:

  • Lead the end-to-end development of solar and BESS projects, from greenfield identification through approvals and financing.
  • Manage teams and external contractors to ensure projects meet timelines and budgets.
  • Secure necessary permits and licenses, working with local authorities and stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to ensure smooth project progression.

Business Development:

  • Contribute to the creation of business cases for new renewable energy projects.
  • Manage due diligence processes for potential acquisitions and partnerships.
  • Provide input on emerging renewable energy technologies and market opportunities.

Growth Strategy:

  • Support the company's growth in the Australian market by identifying and developing new project opportunities.
  • Work closely with senior management to shape the project pipeline and growth strategy.

Reporting & Communication:

  • Monitor project budgets and timelines, reporting on progress and risks.
  • Lead stakeholder communications and manage community engagement for project development.

Qualifications & Experience:

Skills:

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and project management skills.
  • Financial literacy and understanding of renewable energy markets and technologies.

Experience:

  • Extensive experience in the development of renewable energy projects, particularly solar and BESS.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects through all development stages.
