About this role

As Business Manager of Building and Infrastructure your responsbilities will include business development, team leadership, and service delivery in line with the companies strategy. Reporting into the General Manager your focus will be deliverying growth, ensuring client satisfication and maintaining compliance.

  • Define and drive the strategic direction for SGS's Building and Infrastructure operations in Australia, ensuring alignment with both regional and global business goals.
  • Take full ownership of the business line's profit and loss (P&L), overseeing revenue growth, operational efficiency, and cost management.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with clients across government, commercial, and industrial sectors to enhance SGS's market presence and promote service offerings.
  • Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team of engineers, project managers, and technical staff, cultivating a high-performance culture with a strong focus on safety and excellence.

Is this you?

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline; additional qualifications such as an MBA or commercial credentials are advantageous.
  • Proven track record in managing full profit and loss (P&L) responsibilities and driving commercial growth.
  • At least 10 years of experience in infrastructure or building services, with a minimum of 5 years in senior leadership or executive roles.
  • In-depth industry knowledge of the Australian infrastructure/building sector, including relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Strong client and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ambitious, driven, and committed.
  • Excellent written, communication, and negotiation skills.
