About this role

As a Civil Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and timely cost estimates for a variety of civil infrastructure projects. Working closely with project managers, engineers, and the leadership team, you'll play a critical role in securing work and shaping the future project pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for civil construction projects, with a focus on subdivisions and roadworks.
  • Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost breakdowns.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including project managers, engineers, and procurement teams.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure accurate estimates.
  • Identify project risks and opportunities during the tendering process.
  • Assist with bid strategy and submission planning to help secure new work.
  • Conduct take-offs and measurements from design plans and drawings.
  • Maintain and update estimating tools, cost databases, and supplier/vendor lists.
  • Participate in handover meetings to ensure smooth transition from estimating to project delivery.

Is this you?

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience working on sub-division and road infrastructure projects
  • Project engineers and Project Managers welcome to apply
  • Ability to interpret civil design plans, specifications, and technical documents.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, cost drivers, and market conditions.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
