Introduction

Brunel has been exclusively engaged to recruit a Network Access Manager - Power for a leading energy infrastructure business based in Perth. This role is a key commercial and regulatory position focused on managing the end-to-end coordination of new electricity network connections within the Pilbara region.

About this role

Reporting to the Head of Commercial, the Network Access Manager will take full ownership of the network access process. You'll manage feasibility, compliance, negotiation, and coordination of new grid connections, with particular oversight of the Pilbara Network Access Code (PNAC) and Pilbara Network Rules (PNR). This includes working closely with the Independent System Operator (ISO), technical teams, and external stakeholders to facilitate efficient, compliant, and economically sound access outcomes.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role suited to someone with strong commercial acumen and technical understanding, who can confidently engage across legal, regulatory, engineering, and customer environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, assessment, and execution of new electricity network connection requests
  • Ensure alignment with engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and internal processes
  • Provide commercial oversight of PNAC and PNR to ensure cost recovery and economic viability
  • Coordinate technical due diligence in collaboration with engineering teams
  • Serve as a key point of contact for customers and stakeholders, ensuring transparent and effective engagement
  • Represent the business in regulatory negotiations and connection-related commercial discussions
  • Support the integration of new assets, ensuring minimal disruption to existing operations

Is this you?

We're seeking a commercially minded leader with a strong understanding of power networks, regulation, and connection processes in Western Australia, ideally with direct exposure to the Pilbara framework.

You will bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Law, Commerce, or a related discipline
  • Extensive experience in network access or commercial operations in the power or renewables sector
  • Strong contract negotiation skills and knowledge of regulatory frameworks (ideally PNAC/PNR)
  • Experience working with ISO/regulatory bodies in a grid or transmission environment
  • Sound commercial judgement and the ability to manage technically complex stakeholder engagement
  • Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to balance competing technical and commercial priorities

What we offer

This is a rare opportunity to lead power access strategy in one of Australia's most commercially important regions. You'll join a respected energy business actively driving growth and investment across the Pilbara. The role offers long-term career development, meaningful influence on infrastructure outcomes, and the chance to work across complex commercial, technical, and regulatory environments.
