Introduction

As a Senior Subsea Project Engineer, you will lead engineering teams in the execution of offshore subsea projects for a prominent global client. Your responsibilities encompass overseeing project planning, budgeting, and ensuring the safe and efficient installation of subsea systems. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will drive technical excellence and maintain stringent compliance with HSEQ standards throughout project delivery.

About this role

  • Provide engineering leadership across project planning, offshore/site work, tender prep, and execution.
  • Mentor and guide Project & Graduate Engineers, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and fostering growth.
  • Define and forecast manning/resourcing needs; contribute to cost estimates, engineering task definitions, and CTRs.
  • Generate and review technical documentation - including calculations, specifications, procedures, layouts, schematics, and equipment lists.
  • Lead HAZID workshops; ensure engineering outputs meet MMA and client technical, quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Work with CAD designers across Perth and Singapore; manage external engineering partnerships.
  • Support offshore execution phases with technical oversight and ensure adherence to HSEQ guidelines.
  • Drive innovation-promote improvement in products, services, processes, and support new development opportunities.
  • Handle administrative duties: timesheets, PRs, POs, document control.

Is this you?

We seek a highly skilled and motivated Senior Project Engineer with over 5 years of experience in offshore and subsea engineering.

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in subsea system design, installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair. Experience with structural or naval architectural design, particularly of temporary items such as seafastenings and installation aids.
  • Project Management Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, coordinate project activities, and manage resources effectively to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.
  • Commercial Acumen: Experience in developing and submitting tenders, providing man hours, cost, and technical input. Ability to identify changes and opportunities for commercial project variations.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including project and operation teams.
  • HSEQ Commitment: Ability to facilitate HAZID meetings/workshops
