Introduction

On behalf of our client, within the Energy Resources sector, Brunel is presently sourcing a Finance Team Lead. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations, managing a small team and supporting strategic financial decision-making. This will be a 12 month contract located in the Perth CBD.

What are you going to do 

  • Oversee and manage all intercompany transactions, ensuring that they are accurately recorded and reconciled across the organisation
  • Implement and maintain robust intercompany policies to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Address and resolve intercompany discrepancies and ensure that all balances are properly matched for month-end closing
  • Oversee the accounting for G&A expenses, ensuring that they are accurately allocated and reported across the business units.
  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive monthly management reports that provide insights into the Company's financial performance
  • Work closely with business units to gather necessary data for accurate reporting and reporting of financial metrics, such as budget vs. actuals, variances and forecasts
  • Oversee the revenue recognition process in compliance with IFRS and industry-specific regulations, ensuring that revenue is accurately reported
  • If required, assist in the preparation of cash flow forecasts and cash management reports for the group

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor in Accounting, Finance OR a related field
  • Professional CA, CPA, ACCA will be well received
  • Big 4 Accounting firm with exposure to complex accounting frameworks and auditing standards is desirable
  • Exceptional technical accounting skills with in-depth knowledge of IFRS and revenue recognition principles
  • Extensive experience in preparing group consolidated financial statements and managing intercompany balances for a multi-national organisation
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and mentoring Finance Teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
