Introduction

We're recruiting a Senior Civil Designer for a Tier 1 mining client in WA. The role involves delivering major infrastructure and energy studies, collaborating with engineers and drafters to ensure timely, accurate civil design packages. Ideal for a technically strong designer with experience in mining, resources, or heavy infrastructure who thrives in complex, multi-disciplinary settings.

What are you going to do 

  • Support the delivery of concept, feasibility, and detailed design phases of mining and energy projects.
  • Liaise with project engineers and discipline leads to understand design inputs, scope changes, and project expectations.
  • Integrate engineering inputs and data to create accurate and coherent 12d models and detailed drawings for review and approval.
  • Apply relevant Australian or international design standards to all work, ensuring full compliance with engineering best practices.
  • Manage and incorporate spatial data and GIS inputs to inform designs and aid in project planning.
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation for construction, including design reports and drawing registers.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary coordination meetings and contribute technical input during design reviews

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Civil design within mining, energy, or major infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of civil infrastructure design processes across all project stages (FEED, DFS, execution).
  • Proven capability in 12d Model and MicroStation - including ability to create and apply custom tools, templates, or macros.
  • Competence with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, Global Mapper) and handling large spatial datasets.
  • Familiarity with civil and survey data management and integration into design workflows.
  • High attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey design outcomes and coordinate across disciplines.
  • Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred.
