Brunel International is a global recruitment and staffing company that specializes in providing workforce solutions to the mining industry. We are currently seeking an experienced HV Electrician (Underground) to work FIFO basis in a Papua New Guinea gold mine.

What are you going to do

The HV Electrician (Underground) is responsible for providing electrical maintenance and repair services to the underground mining operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing electrical faults, carrying out routine maintenance, and conducting tests on electrical equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards. The role requires the ability to work in a high-pressure environment, often with limited resources.

Essential skills and knowledge

List of Requirements

Trade Qualification in Electrical Fitting or Electrical Mechanics
Minimum of 5 years' experience working in underground mining operations
Experience with HV switching and protection systems
Experience with PLC systems, conveyor controls, and control systems
Understanding of electrical safety regulations and procedures
Ability to work in a remote location and in a high-pressure environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

What we offer

The successful candidate will be offered an attractive salary package, including a competitive base salary, accommodation, meals, and return flights to their home country. This is a FIFO position, with a roster of 21/14 days.
