Our client, a leading Oil and Gas service provider, urgently seeks a Lab Technician in Jandakot. The ideal candidate is a young, energetic, and enthusiastic individual who is a quick learner and open-minded. We have a current opportunity for a Lab Technician on a contract basis. The position will be based in Perth. For further information about this position please apply.

Role Summary:

As a Lab Technician, you will be working closely with a group of Lab Engineers and Technicians supporting the Service Delivery team within Drilling Completion Fluids Product Line.

Essential Responsibilities:

As a Lab Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing drilling and completion fluids formulations
  • Conducting the full measurements of the drilling and completion fluids properties
  • Calibrating and conducting basic maintenance of lab equipment
  • Running specific advanced laboratory tests
  • Being able to complete the tasks and provide the results in a timely manner
  • Writing laboratory reports with summary, conclusion, recommendations
  • Needs to be decent with MS office (especially Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and at least simple software.

Specific Responsibilities:

The Lab Technician will be responsible for all the tasks and activities related to GFO with a strong focus on accounting entries and analysis.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements:

  • Have Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering or Chemical Engineering or related field
  • Have a minimum of 3 additional years of experience in Drilling Fluids Laboratory Operations.
  • Have a knowledge of lab measurement principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Be able to work on weekends on occasion as per operations request
  • Have a good working knowledge and understanding Drilling and Completion Fluids

Benefits:

  • Contract duration : 12 months
  • Work Schedule : Office based - normal working hours
  • Working Hours Per Day : 8 hours
  • Working Days Per Week : 5 days a week
  • Location : Jandakot

Possible conversion from CW to FTE after a year.
