Norther Offshore Wind Farm Project Overview

The Norther Offshore Wind Farm (NOWF) is located in the North Sea, within the Exclusive Economic Zone of Belgium, approximately 23 kilometres from the Belgian port of Ostend. The wind farm has a total of 44 VestasV164-8.4 MW turbines on monopile foundations with a capacity of 369.6 MW and the average consumption of almost 400,000 households. The wind farm spans an area of 38 km2 with water depths up to 33 metres.

 

Work Scope

The scope of work includes the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of the turbine foundations and array cables, and the transport and installation of transmission modules. Brunel was awarded the contract to provide a team of construction supervisors, HSE, QA/QC and discipline (vendor) inspectors to supervise the various construction yards, vendors / equipment providers of the project.
