Shams One Solar Thermal Power Plant Project Overview

The Shams One 100 MWe solar collector plant in Abu Dhabi is one of the biggest solar thermal facilities in the world and built in the city of Madinat Zayed, located 120km south west of Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Brunel in close cooperation with Fichtner, initially supported the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (ADFEC/MASDAR) in the project development phase responsible for feasibility study, detail engineering and drafting of tender documents, and also oversaw the transaction through to contract award. As owner ́s engineer and supported by Brunel, Fichtner is responsible for project management, design review of the EPC contractor ́s documents as well as supervision of construction and commissioning.

Work Scope

Brunel was awarded a contract by Fichtner to provide a team of technical specialists during the engineering, construction and commissioning phases of the project.
